Addis Neger newspaper and Andargatchew Tsige

Andargatchew has started a newspaper called Addis Neger that was published in Addis Ababa last saturday.
The purpose of this paper is to be used for propoganda to help Dr Berhanu take over Kinjit or break out on his own with his own party.

Dr Berhanu's attack plan in Ethiopia

Recently Dr. Befikadu Degifie went to northern ethiopia to lobby for Dr Berhanu. He said that Hailu is going to retire, CUD is not legal anymore and that the local pepole should back Dr Berhanu. This is part of the strategy of Berhanu to get rid of Hailu. Unfortunately, the plan is backfiring in northern and southern ethiopia. The Berhanu group is under a great deal of pressure from Ethiopia and it is not certain that Berhanu or the Group of 5 will go back to Ethiopia until they can be certain enough people are on their side. The Group of 5 are sending money to Ethiopia to rent an office and start the grass root effort to destabilize Kinijit in order to get rid of Hailu.

HR 2003 and revoking the pardon

The Ethiopian Government is not happy that HR 2003 is being considered by the Senate. They are seriously considering revoking the Pardon of the Kinjit leaders on grounds of committing a crime against the constitution if the bill passes. One of the criteria for the release of the Kinjit leaders is they had to agree not to committ any crimes against the constitution. Lobbying for HR 2003 is a crime according to the Ethiopian Government.

Strategy for LMB and new offices for BB's.

There is a major effort to neutralize the LMB (Lealay Mikir Bet) when the Bertukan led group returns to Ethiopia in the next few weeks. Bertukan's team is not convinced that the public relation coup in the US will translate well in Ethiopia. The strategy seems for Bertukan's group to agree to the public's desire to get the Kinijit leaders to reconcile their differences( i.e.the new petition that is floating around to let bygones be bygones and get along for the sake of the party and country) and use that as a basis to give them breathing space. The breathing space is needed in Ethiopia so they can either get enough votes to depose Hailu or set up a new office. In the meantime, Bertukan and Berhanu have transferred enough fund via Europe to open up an office in Ethiopia.
